Increasing the degree of ease of use in a user interface (web, resident, interactive display, mobile phone, automotive bridges, etc.) in terms of learning memory and especially usability, allows one to retain the customer/user for the establishment with the client of a truly communicative relationship.

For this reason, it is important to use assessment techniques which produce results about the usability that are clear, safe, and general. The measure of the degree of usability through the recording, analysis and interpretation of eye movements is a valuable tool for overcoming the limitations of traditional assessment systems.

With this type of systemic analysis, one can:

» Implement benchmarking studies.

» Identify “distracter” elements that slow down or complicate the process of interaction

» Identify the crucial elements from a functional and/or business point of view that erroneously result as being invisible to the user or not recognized as an opportunity.

» Comparing different versions of web pages, prototypes and software interfaces in order to understand what is the most effective and efficient from a user centered viewpoint.

» Identify the emerging paths of exploration, led by the creativity or knowledge of the user, to try to optimize the performance of the interface.
