The analysis of eye movement of a person driving a vehicle can be exploited at many levels: for example, to take appropriate action in the case of a stroke, the driver falling asleep at the wheel, or any other obvious change in attentive capacity.

A more sophisticated use may be to check, together with other sensors, the distance/proximity, of any dangers seen or not noticed by the driver. In these cases, the vehicle might behave in a much more intelligent manner, instantly deciding whether or not to take corrective action and avoiding annoying or superfluous audio alarms.
